An old post office in Belgium has been transformed into a luxury boutique hotel.

Recently, a new fantastic hotel called 1898 The Post opened in the center of the Belgian city of Ghent. The hotel, with 38 luxurious rooms, was once a post office. In 1898, the magnificent building with elements of neo-Renaissance and a 54-meter clock tower was designed by architect Louis Cloquet. It is located in the heart of Ghent between the Grain Market and Graslei Street. Opening its doors in 1909, the post office quickly became a center of activity and operated in its original capacity until 2001. Today, guests from all over the world can stay here during their visit to the city.

The hotel pays tribute to the splendid history of its building in every detail, even in the names of the rooms — The Stamp, The Letter, and The Postcard. There is even a room dedicated to the horse-drawn carriages that once delivered the mail. But the most unforgettable feature of the hotel for guests will undoubtedly be a night in the clock tower, which now represents an octagonal duplex. This stunning room offers a 360-degree view of the city. Each space in 1898 The Post radiates warmth and individuality, thanks to the thoughtfully designed style and early 20th-century furniture that conveys the feeling of historical Belgium.
At the same time, the hotel offers its guests the most advanced service and all necessary technologies — Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and built-in sound systems. You can dine in the restaurant with a contemporary open kitchen in a relaxed atmosphere or enjoy a cocktail in the stylish old-fashioned bar The Cobbler. Just look at this amazing transformation!
