Conrad Hotels & Resorts: relax with inspiration!

The global project Stay Inspired will enable hotel staff to become prepared guides for programs lasting 1, 3, and 5 hours.

The network of luxury resorts Conrad Hotels & Resorts announces the launch of the Stay Inspired program (www.stayinspired.com) — a global project marking a true cultural shift in the hospitality industry and new standards for staff training: from now on, any employee of the Conrad hotel network will become an erudite guide for guests about the city or area where they work, and will be able to share the maximum of interesting facts and stories. In each of the 24 Conrad hotels, anyone wishing to get closer to the local culture can already book 1-, 3-, or 5-hour recommended programs using the Conrad Concierge mobile app or on the StayInspired.com website.

The initiator and first director of the Stay Inspired program is Nilu Motamed, whose responsibilities include developing the original concept and implementing the core principles of the program, as well as demonstrating its significance for guests of Conrad hotels. Before joining the Conrad network, Nilu served as the editor-in-chief of Epicurious — an award-winning digital project about gastronomy by Condé Nast, as well as the special projects director and senior correspondent for Travel + Leisure magazine.

As the director of the new direction, Nilu traveled to Conrad resorts around the world and implemented the initial components of the Stay Inspired program. The resource StayInspired.com caters to the wishes of modern travelers who seek to combine work, leisure, and pleasure, offering 1-, 3-, and 5-hour recommended programs called Conrad 1/3/5. Each recommendation presents a fresh and unconventional perspective on the city or area and includes advice on gastronomy, shopping, art objects and design projects, cultural attractions, family activities, and adventure opportunities.

"Modern affluent travelers choose destinations where they can discover something new. That’s why we pay special attention not only to how our concierges interact with guests but also to the service provided by every employee," notes John Vanderslice, head of Conrad Hotels & Resorts. "Through collaboration with Nilu, we have trained all employees, enriching them with new knowledge, and now they can provide guests with thoughtful recommendations about the city or area, which surpasses the standard 'transactional' relationships between concierges and guests. We have now become not just hotels but captivating storytellers."

The resource StayInspired.com, also available as the Conrad Concierge mobile app, offers guests of the hotel network the opportunity to take advantage of one of the proposed programs designed for 1, 3, or 5 hours, or to choose specifics based on interests. With the help of StayInspired.com, guests of Conrad resorts can save and share the proposed Conrad 1/3/5 programs, view selected content (photos, videos, maps), book a room and program with the help of a concierge. The concierges, in turn, will assist guests in executing the planned program using tablet computers.

"Hotel guests want to use any free time that arises during their travels to discover something new. They want to experience authentic attractions in the city or area that are not mentioned in guidebooks and that are far from crowded tourist trails," notes the head of the Stay Inspired program, Nilu Motamed. "Our new Conrad 1/3/5 collection offers the most relevant content and recommendations that allow our guests to live life to the fullest."

Everyone is welcome to discuss the innovation on social media: follow @ConradHotels on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtag #StayInspired.
