The Hawaiian Islands are constantly changing, as they contain active volcanoes: lava regularly alters the landscape of the islands. In May of last year, an eruption of Kilauea began that lasted for several weeks. There was so much lava that it destroyed almost 600 homes, and about 2,000 residents were evacuated. Additionally, the raging volcano caused the death of many marine inhabitants, as the fire caused the ocean to boil, resulting in the disappearance of entire ecosystems along its shores. Furthermore, a whole lake that had existed on the island for about four hundred years was evaporated by the lava.

However, Kilauea brought not only destruction but also managed to truly impress the locals, who are accustomed to such twists of paradise: a new beach with black sand appeared on the Big Island.

Both locals and tourists come to see the beach made of lava and volcanic minerals.

A beach was not the only thing that appeared; in a short time, nature created another wonder — four hot springs.

However, swimming in them can be dangerous: the ponds are not disinfected, so there is a risk of contracting some infection.

The new black beach can be visited by anyone who wishes, but getting there will be difficult: the roads in this area are currently closed, and there is no drinking water on the premises due to damages.
