In the USA, an old church was transformed into a very beautiful hotel.

It is difficult to surprise those born in the USSR with the fact that a church has been transformed into something secular. For many years in the Soviet Union, temples were turned into storage facilities, meeting places for local councils, and emergency medical stations. However, in the USA, a hotel has opened in a church. The designers have done an excellent job, as there has been no significant break between the past and the present of the temple.

The Peter & Paul Hotel is located in a 19th-century monastery complex in New Orleans. The Catholic church, the priest's house, the monastery, and the school have become a hotel with 71 rooms. The project turned out to be incredible: in addition to the rooms, there is now a meeting space, retail area, bar, and restaurant.
The monastery complex has been given a second life: the interior is done in shades that the great masters of the 14th-18th centuries used in their religious-themed paintings. The original features of the church have been preserved: stucco, stained glass windows, marble fireplaces, corridors with wooden ornaments, frescoes, and beautiful chandeliers.

The majority of the rooms are located in the former school, but there are also rooms in the church itself — five suites with antique fireplaces, where the beds are crowned with canopies. There are rooms in the monastery as well, where nuns once lived. Their highlight is the massive cast iron bathtubs on intricately carved legs.
The bar and restaurant at the Peter & Paul Hotel are owned by a company that has received the prestigious James Beard Award. Here, signature cocktails, coffee, and incredibly delicious dishes made from local ingredients are served.
