Luxury, not accessible to everyone: the coolest hotel in the world
Not everyone has the opportunity to visit the world's most luxurious hotel. However, TravelAsk exists for this very reason - to offer a virtual tour of the most extravagant hotel.
Sunny Dubai
As many could guess, the most luxurious hotel is located in the United Arab Emirates. They like to stay ahead of the rest of the world: they have the tallest skyscraper, the highest hotel, and the biggest shopping center in Dubai.
The hotel is popularly known as "The Sail," but officially it is called Burj Al Arab.
The hotel is located on an artificial island 280 meters from the shore, built at the end of the 20th century.
It is the only seven-star hotel in the world. Although this status was given to it by journalists, the hotel itself positions itself as a five-star deluxe hotel.
28 Pieces Per Night
Burj Al Arab is also one of the tallest hotels (in fact, it led in this aspect for a long time): it soars into the sky at 321 meters. Despite its impressive height, the hotel only has 202 rooms. This is because all of them are luxury class: they are all duplexes with separate terraces. From the balcony, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sea and Dubai. The level of comfort and luxury here is simply off the charts. For example, all suites have floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the Persian Gulf and offer free Wi-Fi.
Each suite is also equipped with a 4-carat gold-plated iPad, a 21-inch iMac computer, a widescreen interactive TV with high-definition picture, as well as a Bose dock for iPhone and a media center.
As for the interior decoration, approximately 8000 square meters of 22-carat gold leaf were used in the interior of Burj Al Arab.
The most modest room measures "only" 169 square meters, while the largest is close to 800 square meters.
The cost for one night here can reach up to $28,000. However, there are rooms available for less: ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 per night.
In addition, the hotel features two escalators, a stunningly beautiful fountain, and numerous restaurants on the premises.
Hotel Design
Externally, the hotel resembles a sail. This concept pays homage to Arab culture: the building looks like an Arab dhow ship.
Inside, the interior is designed in an Eastern style. The corridor floor is adorned with unique mosaic, and the height of the hotel's atrium lobby is 180 meters.
The architect who designed the building aimed to create Dubai's iconic landmark in the same way as the Eiffel Tower in Paris. And he succeeded: today, the hotel has become a true symbol of the southern Persian Gulf.
But Burj Al Arab truly stands out not only for its decoration, but also for its unparalleled level of service. The hotel has been repeatedly recognized as the most luxurious place to stay in the world. The hotel administration offers the best service and infrastructure: a beach, a spa center with panoramic views of the Persian Gulf, hydro-massage baths, steam baths, 9 restaurants with exquisite cuisine. There is even a helipad, as well as limousine or Rolls-Royce transfer services with a personal driver. Additionally, the hotel provides personal butler services, and the registration itself is done in the room, not at the front desk like in other hotels. The transfer to the main attractions of Dubai is completely free of charge.
The restaurants here are also magnificent. For example, one of the hotel's restaurants, "Al-Muntaha," is located 200 meters above the Persian Gulf, offering a view of Dubai. Access to it is via a panoramic elevator. But that's not even the most remarkable one. In "Al-Mahara," another restaurant, visitors are transported on a boat that simulates a submarine.
To achieve this, a huge aquarium with seawater was created, capable of holding over a million liters. According to Conde Nast Traveler magazine, this restaurant is considered one of the best restaurants in the world.
According to some estimates, the construction of Burj Al Arab cost around one billion dollars.
