Spending a weekend in a new city is a great idea when you are tired of the work week. This weekend, I want to get lost in a big city full of historical sites, large avenues, shops, and restaurants. So that life doesn't stop for a moment, and I can just contemplate everything around me. For this purpose, I chose the capital of Spain – Madrid with its diverse architecture, multicultural culture, and constant movement. To spend my time as planned, I decided to stay in a hotel with breakfast included. The image galleries and prices get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on September 27, 2024.

A modern hotel with convenient transportation access to the city center. Nearby is a university, so there is a developed infrastructure with many shops, pharmacies, bars, laundries, and cafes.
On the first floor of the hotel, in a minimalist cafe, a buffet breakfast is served. Guests are offered cereals, eggs, cheese, tortillas, vegetables, fruits, and of course, coffee.
The hotel has single and double rooms with private full bathrooms.
The bus stop is located 4 minutes from the hotel. Taking the bus here will get you to the center in about 20 minutes. Route C2 will take you to the Sabatini Gardens and the Royal Palace. You can reach the Buen Retiro Park by metro in half an hour. For such a large city as Madrid, this is quite a short journey.

The rooftop terrace of this hotel boasts such a romantic view that I regret going on this trip alone. There are sun loungers on the wooden deck where it's nice to bask in the sun.
The distinguishing feature of the buffet in this hotel is that even those who have to follow a strict diet for health reasons can find dishes here. I believe this is a great opportunity for tourists and a wonderful initiative from the hotel. On the tables, you can find porridge, cereals, toasts, meat assortments, fruits, vegetables, pastries, milk, chocolate. There is a separate section with gluten-free dishes.
The double room in this hotel is quite minimalist, containing only the essentials, and its area is 18 square meters. For those traveling alone and staying in a double room, a separate rate has been created.
I believe that markets in travel are one of the important attractions; they always wonderfully convey the atmosphere of the city. One such market, Anton Martin, is located just five minutes from the hotel. Why not grab a bite here at the food court sometime?
The Sol metro station is just five minutes from the hotel, and Tirso de Molina is two minutes away.
You can reach Plaza Mayor in five minutes.
There are two theaters near the hotel, and guests can hear rehearsals and performances.
Great location – some attractions can be reached on foot, while others can be accessed by the subway, which is located close to the hotel.

Hotel near the famous scenic Spanish Square. The view from the windows overlooks it.
Breakfast is served in the café located in the adjacent building. There is bread, milk, coffee, meat platter, eggs, bacon, sausages, and pastries. Occasionally, guests may find that something is missing, and additional food is brought upon request.
The windows of the rooms overlook the Plaza de España – and this is their undeniable advantage. For a three-star European hotel, the rooms are quite spacious – and this is the second advantage. The area of the smallest studio room is 30 sq. m. The bathroom has toiletries for guests, and air conditioning is installed in the rooms.
In addition to the Plaza de España, which I have already mentioned, the Sabatini Gardens and the Royal Palace are nearby. It is a 15-minute walk to Plaza Mayor.
The journey from Barajas Airport by metro will take 45 minutes, with one transfer required.
Rooms need updating.
Great location.

A small cozy hotel located on a pedestrian street full of shops, boutiques, restaurants, and adjacent to the Puerta del Sol square.
The first thing that caught my eye when seeing the photos of local breakfasts was the abundance of colors. Fruits, smoothies, vegetables, in a word, a luxurious variety of all plant-based and healthy items. And also juices, meat and cheese platters, baked goods, cereals. It is important that the hotel prepares breakfasts exclusively from locally sourced products. There is a separate table for people on diets, as well as a table for healthy eating.
Double rooms are compact, but that doesn't scare me – I won't be spending much time in the hotel. For those who need a bigger room, there is a deluxe with a private terrace.
The hotel is located at Puerta del Sol square and near Sol metro station. It is 350 meters to Plaza Mayor. It is a 10-minute walk to the Royal Palace.
Small rooms.
The hotel has excellent sound insulation: despite the busy square and street outside the window, it's quiet in the rooms.

It is hard to believe, but the hotel was built back in 1918. Since then, much has changed around it, and its appearance has undergone changes, but it still welcomes guests near Puerto del Sol.
Hotel guests claim that the breakfast at this three-star hotel deserves all five stars! The quality and selection of dishes are amazing. The hotel's own restaurant serves a variety of vegetables and fruits, yogurts, juices, cold and hot dishes and snacks, as well as national cuisine. The tables include nuts and dried fruits, cereals, and fresh berries. Guests rate the quality of the coffee very highly.
Many tourists say that the rooms are small, but they can compete with many in the similar and even higher category of hotels. The standard double room with an area of 20 sq. m has a shower, air conditioning, a mini-bar, and a coffee machine. You can choose which way the room windows will face: into a quiet inner courtyard or on the street, where the window offers a view of the Museum of Fine Arts.
Just a ten-minute pleasant walk and you are at Plaza Mayor. And if you walk in the other direction, you'll reach the Cibeles Fountain. The metro is also nearby – a 6-minute walk.
High audibility between rooms.
Center of Madrid, excellent breakfasts.

Do you want to immerse yourself in Spanish style completely? Here you will find an interior traditional to the Castilian part of Spain, where a lot of wood is used and a combination of blue and red colors is featured.
Many praise the breakfasts here, but some do not like that the same products are offered every day. For me, this is not a problem because, firstly, I can find new combinations, and secondly, I will be here for about three days, so it's unlikely that I will get tired of anything.
The hotel's buffet includes traditional items such as omelets and fried eggs, sausages, bacon, yogurts, cold cuts, and pastries. But there are also national dishes, for example, jamón and churros.
The hotel has single, double, and triple rooms. It is nice that each of them has air conditioning and toiletries in the bathroom.
The hotel is located in the city center, 150 meters from Callao metro station. The journey to important places such as the Royal Palace or Plaza Mayor will take no more than 10 minutes.
Guests complained about the lack of vegetables during breakfast. Rooms facing the courtyard are rather dark.
Excellent location.

The area where the hotel is located combines ancient Spanish architecture with modern minimalist buildings. It is adjacent to the most expensive and tallest buildings in the city.
Guests are invited to breakfast at the Mediterranean restaurant in the hotel. It appears very bright and sunny. The buffet offers classic breakfast options and a separate table with gluten-free products. Guests can choose from various types of bread, cheese and meat cuts, fruits, pastries, desserts, and much more for breakfast.
Standard rooms of 25 square meters have a view of the pool and the mountains surrounding Madrid. Relaxing in the city and gazing at the mountain landscape from the window is a separate pleasure.
Located near the hotel is an interesting landmark of the area – the leaning towers of Puerta de Europa with a structure between them called the Obelisk.
Just a five-minute walk from the hotel is the Chamartín metro station and transfer hub. From here, you can reach the famous Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and visit the Real Madrid Museum in 10 minutes. You can also get to the center of Madrid directly without transfers – the metro ride takes about 15 minutes.
I love when hotels have a pool, and in such a warm place like Madrid, it's the perfect spot to spend time after a walk. The hotel also has a fitness center.
From Barajas Airport, you can get there by taxi in 15 minutes, or by metro in 40 minutes with one transfer.
Small elevators with a large number of guests, you have to wait.
Convenient location – 15 minutes to the center, close to the metro and a large transfer hub. Spacious rooms.

A beautiful historic mansion in the center of Madrid – a great place to spend a weekend, what do you think? It features a unique antique lift, and the windows offer a view of the stunning Spanish architecture.
The hotel emphasizes that the concept of its breakfasts is to satisfy the tastes and desires of everyone! Therefore, sweet options are offered for those with a sweet tooth; healthy meals from the healthy eating menu for those who prioritize a nutritious breakfast; breakfasts without allergens for those on special diets, as well as gluten-free and dairy-free options.
Standard double rooms are small in size, with an area of 18 sq. m. There are also Superior rooms, which are slightly larger and feature wonderful terraces with a view of the city.
A couple of steps from the hotel is the Gran Via metro station. However, you may not need it, as almost all important places can be reached with a pleasant walk. For example, you can walk to the Plaza de España in 15 minutes, and to the Prado Boulevard and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in 10.
It takes about an hour by public transport from the airport to the hotel, and half an hour by taxi.
Poor sound insulation.
Location, rooms with terraces.

If you are planning to visit the museums of Madrid, you should consider this hotel – it is surrounded by the most important ones.
Here, breakfasts typical of European hotels are served, including basic dish options: omelets, sausages, bacon, eggs, cereals and yogurts, fruits, jams, and plenty of pastries.
The rooms are very compact but are equipped with spacious wardrobes that can accommodate not only the contents of your suitcase but also the suitcase itself. There are also balconies with a view of Santa Anna Square.
Central - next to the Lope de Vega museum, five minutes from Plaza Mayor and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum.
There are many small restaurants in the square by the hotel, some guests are disturbed by the noise from them. But I like that there is a place to grab a bite nearby.
Central location. Guests say that the service level is excellent.

The intersection of pedestrian streets with their pleasant hustle and bustle, charming small restaurants with tables set outside, and eternal tourists all around – here is located Hotel Europa.
The in-house restaurant on the first floor boasts a summer terrace – those very tables set out on the street. It's wonderful to watch people going about their business while you have nowhere to hurry for breakfast. Guests are greeted with a standard European buffet featuring assorted cold cuts, cheeses, and eggs in various preparations, bacon and sausages, vegetables, and pastries. For dessert, something special is prepared: traditional Spanish churros with hot chocolate. Together with the atmosphere of this restaurant, breakfast will be truly authentic.
They are quite small, but there is a variety to choose from. The standard double rooms have balconies, while the premium room has a private terrace with a picturesque view.
You can reach the Royal Palace in 12 minutes, and the Sabatini Gardens are not far from it. Plaza Mayor is a 7-minute walk from here. Any other attraction can be reached by taking the metro, which is near the hotel.
It takes 35 minutes to get from Barajas Airport by transport: first by metro, and then by bus.
In front of the hotel is the Puerta del Sol square, where tourists stroll in the evening and it can be noisy.
Excellent location and luxurious transport accessibility.
