My husband and I have our own ophthalmology clinic. We often travel to different conferences to learn about modern treatment technologies and find out what the latest equipment is in this field. Soon we are going to the European Association for Vision and Eye Research conference, which will take place at the Valencia Congress Palace. We have already bought tickets and are currently looking for hotels. I always like to make a list of options that I liked the most. Especially since we are going for 5 days, and I want the atmosphere to be as close to home as possible. At least in some elements of the room. My husband and I only need breakfast because lunch and dinner are provided at the conference.  The image galleries and prices get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. Location

Helen Berger — is a 4-star boutique hotel located on one of the most famous streets in the central district of La Seu, next to the impressive neoclassical building La Nau, the oldest building of the University of Valencia. I really liked the place both inside and out. Style and elegance — that's what it is about. It is also a 20-minute drive from the Congress Palace. A very convenient location for us.

Breakfast

When booking, you should choose a room with breakfast included in the form of a buffet. It will be served in the hotel's very elegant restaurant. The menu includes sandwiches, various types of eggs: boiled, omelets, etc., yogurts, juice, freshly brewed coffee, croissants, as well as a dessert menu. Guests note that the breakfast is delicious, even though there is not a very wide selection, but it is made from quality products, as well as the friendliness of the waiters. This is what you need to start the day: a full stomach and a good atmosphere.

Hotel rooms

I looked through the hotel photos, and I liked the double room with one bed. It's very unusual that the bedroom has the same lamps as we have in our apartment. Here I found a small piece of home. The rooms also have small balconies from where beautiful light streams in the morning. I can already imagine standing there sipping refreshing coffee and then doing morning yoga. The room itself is very comfortable, spacious, and beautiful. It has a 42-inch LCD TV with international channels, a kettle with tea and coffee, a writing desk, a magnifying mirror, free Wi-Fi, a radio, a USB charging station, and a free safe.

There is also a bathroom with a hairdryer, a tropical shower, and toiletries. Additionally, there is a mini-bar, room service, a wake-up call service, 24-hour luggage storage, dry cleaning, and laundry services — for an extra charge, and a free pillow menu.

Impressions of the hotel

Guests praise this hotel for its atmosphere and cleanliness of the rooms, the presence of everything necessary, including comfortable mattresses and snow-white bedding. I also appreciated it, as I love using sets in such color at home. There were many reviews about the wonderful staff who tried to make the stay here as comfortable as possible. However, guests also noted an unpleasant smell in the bathroom.

Surroundings

The Helen Berger Hotel is located in the center of Valencia's cultural life, just a few steps from La Naue, the Patriarch Museum, Plaza de la Reina, the Palace of the Marquis of Dos Aguas Museum, and the National Museum of Ceramics, as well as many other iconic attractions of the city. It is very nice that you don’t have to walk far to get to know the history of the surroundings better.

Location

I liked that Zenit Valencia is located in the historical and business center of Valencia. Because of this, it is conveniently situated opposite Joaquín Sorolla North Station and also near the Plaza de Toros square. There is an entrance to the Xativa metro just 50 meters away, from where you can reach the airport directly without transfers. This location will allow for easy movement around the city. The hotel is only a 10-minute drive from the Congress Palace, which is even closer than the first hotel.

Breakfast

From early morning, the restaurant "Azahar" serves a full and diverse breakfast, including gluten-free dishes suitable for people with special dietary requirements. Mediterranean dishes are also offered, served in a healthy and balanced way to give you enough energy for the entire day. I was very pleased with this feature, as with sufficient intake of fats and proteins in the morning, you won't feel hungry for quite a while. From the photos of the restaurant, I saw a rich variety of dishes, and they all looked so appetizing that I immediately felt a strong urge to have a bite.

Hotel Rooms

The hotel has 67 rooms, including 1 junior suite and 1 suite. I liked the standard double room, which combines space for relaxation, work, and sleep. The room is equipped with everything necessary, including a desk, mini-bar and kettle, telephone, plasma TV with international channels, safe, and free Wi-Fi. The bathroom has a pillow set, hairdryer, and magnifying mirror. The sandy colors in the bathroom evoke coziness and tranquility. You will also have access to room service, individual air conditioning, and heating.

Hotel Amenities

I liked that there is a gym and a sauna available to guests for free. Because after a day on our feet, relaxing in the sauna will be the most pleasant activity. And in the morning, one can revive by doing sports. The Zenit Valencia hotel also has its own parking available upon request. This is very convenient for us since we are traveling by car. I also appreciated that the website has detailed information on how to get to the hotel by various means of transport. This is very helpful for those who have never been to Valencia and who cannot find the right place right away.

Surroundings

The hotel is located near the Town Hall Square, the cathedral, the Main and Silk markets. If we decide to take a walk in the evening, I already know some great spots.

Location

Zalamera Bnb is located in the city center, just a few minutes from the historic center of Valencia, in the La-Roceta area. It is a lively, dynamic, and safe neighborhood, as I learned while researching information about the city. I liked the original facade of the 1880 building, but with a modern and fully restored interior design. It is conveniently located a 10-minute drive from the venue where our conference will take place.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. It consists of toast, croissants, a meat platter and cheese, yogurt with muesli, coffee, and juice. From the photos, I saw a lot of fruits and pastries. If you need a lactose-free menu, the hotel can provide it upon request. I read in the reviews that such an option is available. Also, many guests praised the breakfast, saying that it is varied and delicious. However, some guests noted the small dining area.

Hotel Rooms

I was particularly fond of the double room with one bed and a small internal courtyard, where you can relax or greet the morning. I liked the sunny and warm atmosphere of the room, which is so reminiscent of home. It has a private bathroom with a shower, cosmetics, towels, and a hairdryer, a comfortable bed sized 160x200, a TV, free Wi-Fi, two types of pillows, heating and/or air conditioning, a wardrobe, a refrigerator, and an electric kettle with free tea.

Hotel impressions

Reviews mention the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. The staff is always ready to ensure a comfortable stay. Guests highly appreciate the location, spacious and clean rooms with air conditioning, as well as the ability to bring pets. Some guests wrote in their reviews that they were dissatisfied with the inconvenient power outlet — directly above the bed, and also pointed out the slightly inflated room rates in relation to price and quality.

Hotel Amenities

I appreciated that free bike rentals are available for guests, as my husband and I would like to take a bike ride around the city. Also, I found it very convenient that there is an app developed for visiting Valencia with information about attractions. It will tell you how to get there and provide a lot of useful information.

Hotel Location

The hotel is located in the very center of the Old Town, just a few meters from the central market. Surrounding it are numerous colorful cafes, three theaters, the town hall, and a square. And 400 meters away is the Barrio del Carmen district, the oldest in Valencia, the heart of its historical part. Here you can find galleries, museums, street art, and a vibrant nightlife. It takes 12 minutes by car to get from this hotel to the congress palace. This location works well for us too.

Breakfast

The hotel features a restaurant, which also serves breakfast, as well as delivering food and drinks to the room. The breakfast is a continental menu based on fresh local products. According to guest reviews, it is delicious and hearty. If you need food for the road, they will prepare a takeout box for you.

Hotel Rooms

I reviewed the hotel's photos and I can say that you will find spacious rooms where you will feel at home thanks to the use of light and natural colors. They knew how to win me over. Each room is decorated with Baroque-style décor and Art Deco details. Some will have balconies, and each room includes a safe, Wi-Fi, a TV with international channels, and adjustable climate control. For your convenience, there is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. This includes a microwave, ceramic stove, sink, mini-fridge, essential cutlery, and a kettle. It is very convenient; if you suddenly want homemade food for breakfast, you will have the opportunity to prepare it yourself.

Hotel Amenities

The hotel has a spa center, as well as a private gym and private parking for 20 euros, subject to reservation and availability. I liked that there is a "wake-up call" service and that laundry services are available.

Hotel impressions

Guests rated their stay at the hotel positively. They noted that there was cleanliness and fresh renovation. Many liked the location in the historic part of the city, while at night it was quiet and calm. Some wrote that the water in the pool and sauna was cool. Also, not everyone had a working air conditioner: it only worked in the dining room, but not in the bedroom. Some could hear the neighbors' footsteps through the wall.

Hotel features

Hotel Conqueridor, located in the center of Valencia, in the Extramurs district, consists of two buildings connected to each other: the Conqueridor hotel and the Petit Conqueridor boutique hotel. I looked at the official website and found information that their design was inspired by the golden age of Valencia – an era of economic, cultural, and artistic revival of the city. They also incorporated modern design trends. I was enchanted by the desire to preserve the city's history and culture and pay tribute to the past.

Breakfast

In the Hotel Conqueridor café, breakfast is served in a buffet style every morning. You can visit it from 07:30 to 11:00. When booking a room, please indicate that you require a room with breakfast included. The menu offers a wide variety of products. There are both sweet and savory dishes, cold and hot. Guests in reviews mention that the food is diverse, tasty, and substantial. However, some were surprised by the absence of olives. Residents were pleased with the omelet, various cold cuts, cheeses, fruits, yogurt, and fresh pastries. Additionally, one review mentions that many people gather for breakfast, resulting in long queues at the coffee machines.

Hotel rooms

For my husband and me, I would choose the junior suite, as it has a living area for relaxation with a sofa. It's a spacious and bright room, minimalist and stylish. Everything I love. It has a large double bed, a private bathroom with toiletries, a mini-bar, a shower, a safe, and a flat-screen TV. There's also a wardrobe and a climate control system. I compared the rooms of these two connected hotels. I can say that the designs are very similar. They only differ in the variety of rooms. So choose the one that resonates with you more.

Hotel Amenities

The hotel has a gym with a sauna, and there is a paid luggage storage service available. Parking is also charged separately, but its availability is already a pleasure.

Surroundings

The hotel is located 300 meters from the main shopping area of Valencia, the metro station, and just a few steps from the traditional Carmona district, which consists of five small interconnected neighborhoods. Numerous museums, as well as many cafes and vintage fashion boutiques, are situated along the beautiful cobblestone streets and squares. Thanks to its location, you will be able to discover every corner of the city and have unforgettable experiences. It is also the closest hotel to the venue of our conference — just a 9-minute drive away.
