I'm flying from Chicago to Philadelphia to meet my family. On the way, I decided to stop in Columbus. My friends, with whom I studied in college, live there, and I would like to see them. Since I'll be there for no more than 3 days, I decided to choose budget hotels with breakfast. During the day and evening, I will be with my friends, and I would also walk around the city, looking at interesting places. I decided to compile the options I liked into a list to understand which one is better to choose. It's also important for me to be close to attractions or the city center, and I would appreciate a small distance from the airport. Every morning from 6:30 to 9:00 a complimentary hot breakfast with coffee will be available to you. A wonderful combination to perk you up and start a good day. Guests mention the variety of dishes, but if you arrive after 8 AM, the food may be cold. Some residents did not like the coffee and the juicer was broken; it was also noted that the food options were just cereal, toast, bagels, and yogurt.
Many will appreciate such amenities in the room as a refrigerator and a microwave. You will also be able to start your morning with a cup of hot coffee right in your room. I would choose the option with a large bed, a television, and a desk. The bathroom also has everything you need: a hairdryer, towels.
Quality Inn Columbus — is a hotel that allows pets, has a fitness center, and even a business space with free Wi-Fi.
The hotel is located near the main tourist attractions of Columbus, such as the Women's University of Mississippi and the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, an artificial waterway in the USA that stretches for 234 miles and was constructed in the 20th century. History enthusiasts will appreciate the close proximity to the Waverly Plantation Mansion. This mansion, built in 1852, was a working plantation with access to the river. It is now a national monument where you can view original antique items such as mirrors, chandeliers, books, trunks, and other items. Also nearby is the Tennessee Williams Home & Welcome Center, a tourist information center in the city of Columbus.
Guests liked the comfortable beds and pillows, friendly staff, clean and quiet room. Some noted that the towels were not always clean. Reviews are often contradictory; you can see completely opposing opinions. Perhaps this hotel is suitable as a transit option, but for a long stay, I would look for another option.

The Holiday Inn Columbus Dwtn-Capitol Square hotel is a step up from the previous one; it is a three-star hotel. I liked its location near the Topiary Park. There is a lot of greenery, excellent paths suitable for running, and beautiful green sculptures as well.
Breakfast is served daily from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. When booking, you will need to arrange a room with meals included. Guests note that the breakfast is delicious, but some did not like the quality of the ingredients in certain dishes, such as the toasts and sandwiches.
The hotel offers both rooms with a living area and those without. I would choose a room with just a large bed. It has everything you need: a desk, a TV, a comfortable countertop in the bathroom, and a shower cabin. There are no amenities such as shampoo or shower gel in the room, so please keep in mind that you need to bring your own cleansing and care products.
The hotel has a fitness center, an indoor pool where you can swim any time of the year. For those traveling by car, there is a secure parking lot. In addition, dry cleaning and laundry services are offered.
The hotel is located near the State Government House and Ohio State University. If you enjoy watching animals, there is the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium nearby, and the curious will appreciate the Center of Science and Industry, which is not far away. Visit popular city spots such as the Brewery District and German Village, which are within a few minutes' walk from the hotel.
Guests note the cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms, their decor, and the maintenance in perfect condition. Many also appreciate the level of service and the attentive attitude of the staff. Some are not very satisfied with the price of the room.

The hotel is located in the city center, close to major restaurants and shops, such as Grill At Jackson Square, La Fiesta Brava, Longhorn Steakhouse. I really liked the hotel building. It has a resort-like atmosphere and design.
The hotel offers a complimentary full breakfast with a choice of options. The menu includes: bread, cereals, fruits, hot eggs, meat and other dishes, yogurt, juice, and coffee. Guests write that the food is always fresh, hot, and delicious, but somewhat limited.
The rooms are cozy and spacious, some of them have a living area and even a jacuzzi in the bathroom. Of course, there is a wardrobe and a dresser, a desk with a sofa and a refrigerator, a coffee maker, a hairdryer, an iron, and an ironing board. Guests note the cleanliness of the rooms and the comfort of the beds, as well as the beautiful decor. Some have mentioned small issues, for example, with the functioning of the refrigerator, telephone, and toilet.
Guests appreciated the hotel's location in the city center, which provides easy access to nearby attractions and amenities, such as Columbus Air Force Base and the Trotter Convention Center at Mississippi State University. Most enjoyed the staff, describing them as attentive and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. It's very convenient that the hotel has a fitness center. Some mentioned that the internet was slow at times. However, in terms of price and quality, the place is excellent.
The hotel is surrounded by historic pre-war houses that create an atmosphere of whimsical and charming relaxation. Be sure to visit the state park "Lounds Lake" and the fishing tournaments at the Lock-and-Dam.

The hotel is located between highways 82 and 45, in the city center. Columbus Air Force Base and the Golden Triangle Regional Airport are just a few minutes away, as are downtown Columbus and Mississippi University for Women.
Breakfast is served here in a buffet style. Some guests note that the food is diverse, tasty, and fresh. They offer eggs, waffles, sausage, fresh fruits, cereals, cookies, and coffee. Other guests would like to see an improvement in the variety. For example, adding more dishes such as eggs without cheese, and providing packages of mustard.
Each of the non-smoking rooms features a mini-fridge, microwave, desk, ironing facilities, and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Many guests praise the staff who strive to provide top-notch service. However, some mention that there are cleanliness issues in the hotel, including mold in the shower, dirty rooms, and an unpleasant smell in the stairwell. But such reviews are rare.
There is a well-equipped fitness center and an outdoor pool. Free Wi-Fi is also offered. Additionally, the hotel allows pets.
There are many things to see in the area around the hotel. Head to the Magnolia Motor Speedway for thrilling off-road racing. Stroll the trails, fish, or swim in the lake located in Lake Lowndes State Park. If you have a car, you can also drive to Starkville to catch a college football game or visit the campus of Mississippi State University.

Econo Lodge in Columbus is a two-star hotel located 3 km from the University Mall shopping center. The cheapest room here costs 67 dollars. Breakfast and many other free amenities are already included in the price.
To give you energy for an active day in the city, the hotel offers a delicious hot breakfast. It is served from 6:00 to 9:00 AM. I think this timing is convenient for travelers who have early departures. The menu consists of cereals, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and muffins, yogurt, pastries, cookies, and bread. Reviews about the breakfast vary. Some liked it, while others had to ask the manager to replenish the food supplies.
I liked the separation of rooms for smokers and non-smokers. It's nice to stay in a room that doesn't smell like smoke. I would choose a room with a large bed. It has everything you need: a bathtub to relax in after a busy day; a sink with a large countertop to conveniently place cosmetics; a TV, a desk, and a mirror. Some rooms have an additional chair and sofas. I didn't see a wardrobe in the photos, but there is a dresser. Pay attention to this if you are staying at the hotel for a long time. It might not be very convenient for you. I have enough space to unpack only the things I need for a couple of days.
The hotel also offers amenities for travelers such as free parking, Wi-Fi, pet-friendly accommodation, and laundry services. And if after a whole day of travel you want to relax, you can take a dip in the outdoor pool. I think that upon arrival, I will do just that, stretching my muscles after the flight — a great idea.
Just a few minutes' drive from the hotel, you can visit the main attractions of the region, such as the Rosenbaum Arts Center. Racing enthusiasts will appreciate that the building is only minutes away from the Columbus Speedway and Magnolia Motor Speedway racetracks. The Columbus Air Force Base is also easily accessible. Thanks to the location near Highway 82, you will also find yourself just minutes from attractions like Lake Lowndes State Park, the riverfront and Columbus Riverwalk trails, as well as numerous specialty shops, restaurants, and historic buildings downtown. I am very pleased with such proximity to landmark locations.
Reviews of the hotel are positive. Of course, it should be taken into account that this is a budget option, and one should not have inflated expectations. Some guests wrote about the convenient location and friendliness of the staff, comfortable beds, good quality of the shower, and the presence of air conditioning. Some encountered dirty rooms and hard, uncomfortable beds; there were issues with electricity and not enough towels and cleaning supplies. Some mentioned a broken swimming pool. Overall, for such a price and with this number of free amenities — it is quite a decent hotel for a couple of days. If you are considering a longer stay, I would look for more options.
