Beyond - yes, very conveniently located, if you are a fan of the sea - you go out, swim, come back to the territory. The hotel itself looks a bit gloomy, but the location is great, right on the first line.

We stayed at this hotel from 11-21.03. We were satisfied. Perfect location relative to the sea, with direct access from the hotel grounds. We usually reserved sunbeds from 6 am, typically only our group, Europeans come out later around 9 am. There is a note in the room in Russian, stating that if you reserve a sunbed before 9:00 am and leave, your things will be removed from it. Throughout the stay, there were always available sunbeds. Once I left my belongings and towels at lunchtime to go swimming in the sea. When I returned, my belongings were in place, but the towel was missing 🙈 I inquired, and the staff said they didn't touch it, but kindly brought a new towel. Very friendly staff, who quickly resolve issues. Excellent massage at the hotel (make appointments in advance). Spacious rooms, cleaned regularly and quite decent by Asian standards. Bed linen was changed every other day, towels were changed daily. Good breakfasts with a view of the sea👍🏼 In the evening, there was entertainment with local singing and dancing. There were also daytime activities. Subjectively, in my opinion, some downsides were: a very unpleasant musty smell in the room that permeated everything (the constantly running air conditioner didn't help). Only blackout curtains in the room, and with open curtains, everything was visible to neighbors across. On the penultimate day before departure, we asked to move to another room because of some unclear issues in my current room, which required a significant adjustment of my plans and relocation😩 I moved to the far end, but the room was bigger, with a coffee machine and bathrobes, and a view of the pool and close to the sea. The most unpleasant part of this move was that I overlooked the missing beach towel bag when I moved, I didn't even think I needed to keep track of it🙈. As a result, when checking out at 3:20 am, I had to pay 500 Baht, as there was no one to explain the situation to, and the nice, smiling man suddenly didn't understand🤷🏽♀️. If we overlook the disappointments such as the hotel accusing me of stealing a "remarkably beautiful and practical" branded beach bag and the unpleasant musty smell in the rooms, then overall, the hotel is good! Locals told us that in December, the hotel hosts the king for a few days during a sailing regatta. It sounded quite plausible.

We stayed at this hotel in December and also returned there in January on our way back 😊 The hotel is nice, we liked the room, the territory is small but well maintained 😍 The breakfasts are average, but I haven't really encountered good breakfasts in Thailand yet 😅 You can always find something to eat ) The pool loungers are often occupied, as people rush in the morning and reserve them with their towels (we were given a note in our room stating that towels will be removed if unattended for more than an hour), but we always managed to find two loungers for ourselves (we arrived around 10-11 am). I really like the location of the hotel, there are places nearby to visit (if you go on foot).

We are currently staying in a superior room. The view is unclear, but if you lean out on the balcony, you can see a glimpse of the sea on the 2nd floor. The room has been renovated, the bed is decent, and the pillows are alright. The plumbing is average. The breakfasts are a 3 (very dull, and for some reason, getting worse every day, the coffee is really bad). Cleaning is a 3 - they sweep the floors instead of mopping them. The bed linen is changed in an unclear manner. The chairs and table on the balcony are dusty. To secure comfortable sun loungers, you have to wake up early. By 9 o'clock, there is almost no choice. The pool is shallow, only 1.2 meters deep. The location is convenient. There is direct access to the beach through the hotel grounds, so you don't have to cross the road. People from the rooms pass by in their swimsuits. There are decent massage parlors and cafes nearby. The market is not too far away. In the reviews, they praise the Deluxe rooms with a sea view. However, the prices are outrageous. Maybe the rooms on the 1st floor with direct pool access have their own sun loungers. There are mainly guests from Russia, Kazakhstan, Italy, France, and Germany. There is live music in the evenings. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant (cafe) on the beach to the right is rubbish. Just stick to getting beer or cola. Last year, we stayed at the Beyond Karon hotel and liked it more. We also preferred the Karon beach. The only downside was that there was a lot of plankton. However, there is practically no plankton on Kata beach now. And yes, IT IS IMPORTANT, we made the reservation ourselves through the hotel's website, and payment was upon check-in. I paid with my Mastercard from a Belarusian bank in US dollars, but the bill was in Belarusian rubles upon arrival. The exchange rate was VERY unfavorable, either the hotel manipulated the rate or it was the conversion rate used. Do not do this. It is better to pay in cash! Overall, the hotel may be decent when considering everything together. However, there are still some nuances, which prevent it from reaching a 4-star rating. The price is almost like that of a 5-star hotel.

Great hotel, we had amazing breakfasts. If there were any minor downsides, they were overshadowed by the fact that we had access to the beautiful and clean sea. Yes, people go to bed early and wake up early to reserve hotel sun loungers. If you want to reserve a sun lounger, you can throw your towel on your preferred one around 6 o'clock and then go back to sleep. You can even sleep on the same sun lounger if you want, the weather allows it and no one will say a word.

We were there in February of this year! The hotel is awesome. We love high-end hotels! It may not be luxurious, but the best thing about it is the location! It's worth getting a category higher than the most budget option, the price difference is 12000 for 11 nights, but you get a view of the pool and ocean. We were on the 3rd floor and didn't see or feel any dampness or mold. The room was cleaned all the time, everything was clean))) The breakfasts were weak, but there was something to eat! There are plenty of massage parlors, currency exchange centers, restaurants, cafes, and a small market nearby. Direct access to the water! I want to go there again and I definitely will! The hotel is perfect for a calm vacation, there aren't any discos or entertainment.

Were you with your family? With children?

avatar

Without children, with friends. It will be boring for the children there, but the beach is perfect for kids, with a nice entrance right across from the hotel and a comfortable depth.

I stayed at Beyond Kata Resort in December of last year. I myself am a travel agent and always sold it as a good option. However, I was so disappointed with the hotel that we only stayed for one night and left, deciding to lose the money. The room was not only old, but also musty. The plumbing worked poorly (the toilet and sink didn't drain properly). The furniture was all old, wooden, and covered in layers of lacquer. One of my colleagues stayed at this hotel during a promotional tour, and she liked the renovated rooms. But!!! I already know that agents are always shown the best rooms. The breakfast was 3 out of 5 (I have stayed at many hotels in Thailand). The sunbeds had saggy mesh, almost touching the ground. There were never enough of them by the pool. They were occupied, but no one was actually using them. The pool was full of leaves and the staff didn't seem to care. Last year, I complained to them about many things at the reception. Maybe they understood something. And one more thing: don't expect to buy a cheaper room and then upgrade it for extra money. The hotel (during the season) always has a shortage of rooms, and their practice is to initially accommodate guests in awful rooms with terrible views and then move them to better ones. Overall, I will not go there again. The hotel is more expensive than it should be for their level. The reception area is nice, and its proximity to the sea is appealing. If you get a room after renovation, you might like it, as you can tolerate the breakfast, but there are many flies in the dining area and queues everywhere.

avatar

This year, the hotel underwent a major renovation of all rooms and territories. The hotel was closed for repairs. So, what was in December last year is no longer relevant.

I overall liked the hotel, but the price is too high for it. There are a lot of palm trees on the premises where you can seek shade from the sun, and if there's no space under a palm tree, there are umbrellas available. The room had everything for a beach visit: beach slippers, towels, and a very convenient bag. There are no hotel sunbeds at the beach, but we used the ones near the pool and went for a swim. The sea is close, so it's convenient to come back, rinse off under the shower, and rest in the shade. In the pool area, there are three showers and one café. It would be nice to have a lobby bar in the evening. There is a place to sit with a group, but you need to buy everything and bring it with you. The Kata area itself is quiet, everything closes at midnight, and you want some action. By the way, to the left of the hotel (when you exit onto the road) is the best currency exchange office, no matter how much we compared, they always had the best exchange rate for the dollar.

avatar

In my opinion, there are no more advantages except for the location of the hotel and the infrastructure. Even buses cannot reach them - the arch is low, so you have to walk with all your suitcases to the road.

avatar

We were here in October: the room had high humidity and a musty smell - that's the biggest downside. The breakfasts were average and they were renovating the pool while we were there.

avatar

We didn't have any smell of mold. We lived on the second floor with a direct view of the sea and pool. The sound insulation was good.

avatar

We had a side room, maybe that's why it didn't dry out. Apparently, we should take one with a direct view.

We are currently resting here. Of course, the hotel is tired, even though it seems they have done renovations, but it looks like more of a cosmetic repair to me. The breakfasts are meager and although they start at 6:30, usually many dishes are prepared closer to 7-7:20 in the morning. From fruits: papaya, pineapple, watermelon, dragon fruit, sometimes bananas. We never had mango, but we easily bought them at the market. However, the staff is very responsive. We had problems with the air conditioning and shower drain during our stay. Everything was resolved promptly. The biggest and indisputable plus for us is the location, right on the waterfront. We have no regrets about choosing it. The bed is huge, three people can comfortably sleep on it, but an additional bed with a good mattress was provided for our daughter.

The swimming pool at the hotel is small, we didn't even notice it at first. The breakfasts are the same as in all hotels, whoever wants can eat, but it's monotonous. Beach towels are changed regularly, but if you're not at the hotel, you'll be stuck with those towels. The hotel grounds are small, there is a decent café on the premises which is part of the hotel, but you can enter it from anywhere you want. If you're staying at the hotel, there's no charge, they just put it on your account (no deposit required). There are stairs down to the beach, and the hotel provides sunbeds which are occupied round the clock. I don't know who and when occupies them, but we didn't even try as we paid for sunbeds on the sand for the whole day. The beach is large, but there are also many people. The infrastructure is great, lots of benches, shops, cafes, everything you could want. If you walk further, you can even find a tea house. The bus and taxi stop is right in front of the hotel, and the prices are posted there as well.

avatar

We went to this hotel for an inspection. The rooms have been renovated and they are much better than before. The mini-club is undergoing renovation. I didn't notice any renovation in the lobby, the hotel looks completely outdated. But, undoubtedly, it is very popular because of its location: it is situated on the first line without any roads.

avatar

We were here last year. In my opinion, besides the excellent location, there is nothing else here. The hotel was not ready for the influx of tourists after COVID. The rooms have a smell of staleness, they are cleaned poorly, and there is always sand left behind. The sheets are changed every 3 days (if that matters to anyone). There were three of us, and the child was given a bed full of spiderwebs with a musty smell (I personally went to the storage to choose the bed). The Deluxe room with a sea view, sideways, is not suitable for three people at all. The only great rooms on the first floor are the ones where each person has their own entrance to the pool and a direct view of the sea. These are the two-bedroom suites.

At Karon, there is a hotel for "pensioners"))) On Kata Beach, there is a pool adapted for young children. I liked the hotel, not luxurious of course, but solidly deserves 4 stars. The breakfasts were quite decent, and for me as a vegetarian, everything was great. For those who like to "sample everything and more", there seemed to be plenty to eat in my view. The rooms are spacious, cleaning and changing of towels are done every day. The sea is clean and within walking distance. The beach is public, but the hotel has its own sunbeds with umbrellas, a shower in the sunbed area. The staff is attentive, and there are shampoos, gels, and creams available. There are many cafes and shops near the hotel. We often had dinner at Kata-Mama, something like our food court. We walked to Kata Noi, though it was a bit far, but walking is beneficial. There were always small waves, which excited the children ))

Excuse me, but are there enough sun loungers at the hotel?

Comment

Karina

There is a shortage of sunbeds because people leave their towels and go away for the whole day, and someone cannot lie down in the pool area because of this. And you have to occupy the sunbeds at 6 am, and even then, half of them will already have towels on them. It seems that the Thai people themselves put towels for tips.

Please tell me what breakfast options are available at the hotel and approximately how far is Karon Beach from the hotel on foot?

We were there in February of this year. The breakfasts were similar, but fine, there was something to eat. The Karon beach is a bit far, about a 25-minute walk.
