We were here 5 years ago. I was bothered only by the roar of airplanes, everything else I liked. Now we are here, came for three days, because my husband wanted to return. Now he is bothered by this noise, he said he no longer wants to come back here. This time it doesn't bother me as much))) but in these 5 years the hotel has become worn out, the territory looks worse, the pool is murky, I have no desire to swim in it at all. The sea is restless these days. The only thing that saves us is the water park.

avatar

We live in building 8, a corner room. The sleeping arrangements are comfortable, but for some reason we were placed in a room with two separate beds for the two of us with a child. We fit on one bed in the corner, too lazy to move and ask for a replacement 🙈 Otherwise, the room looks tired, especially evident in the furniture and the condition of the bathroom. It would be nice to have something fresher... Today we had breakfast for the first time. It also seemed quite good.

avatar

Have you taken a deposit from you?

avatar

As a deposit, they left their passport. They also ask for $100.

We live in building 6, everything is good, mattresses and pillows are comfortable, the room is cleaned every day, but the floors are poorly washed. The breakfast for Thailand is decent, there is plenty for children to eat. It is very important to understand! Do not compare 5* Thailand and 5* Turkey, these are two completely different countries. You won't see food and service here like in Turkey, that's a fact. We have been to Thailand many times, but it's our first time in Splash, we are all satisfied! The area is huge, really relaxing with children.

avatar

Hello) So, about the hotel. We checked into a villa with a pool. Everything is very nice, clean, and the villa is great. Today's breakfast has a wide variety, but it's not very tasty, I suppose. There are many people. We'll try to go earlier or later tomorrow. The buggies are convenient and run frequently.

avatar

At the villa is wonderful! They clean every day and well! We could not understand where the negative reviews come from. Apparently, this really applies to specific buildings. At breakfast, it's crowded, but you can always find a place anyway. We didn't notice crowds at the pool because the villa has its own pool and we preferred to use it. The beach is nice, pine needles are no surprise, as there are pine trees everywhere. Tuk-tuks are available everywhere and always. If you really need one, you can call one right from the villa and they will take you. Of the restaurants in the area, the Siamese Dragon turned out to be the most delicious, Yam-yam was not appreciated – the amenities there did not please us much 🤪.

avatar

We stayed at this hotel from March 3rd to 13th in the "scary" building number 9😁 The room we got was good, the only drawback of the room is slightly worn-out furniture. Clean, cleaned every day, quiet, overlooking the water park. The territory is large, buggies (electric cars) drive around the entire area, you can call a car directly from the room, the staff are friendly, always trying to understand and help. There are 2 lakes on the territory (you can't swim in them) and a pool near one of the buildings. The beach is free and clean, yes, there are coniferous trees on the shore, but even the needles are cleaned up in the mornings (as much as possible), towels are provided on the beach, you can exchange them as much as you want. There are swings for cool photos and of course planes. There is also a place near the beach where they sell fresh fruits, snacks, drinks, etc. Near the sea, there are 2 pools and a cafe, you can spend the whole day there. There are outdoor showers on the street and shower rooms at the beach. There is a water park, kids love it, but we preferred the sea. Not many shops nearby, but overall you can get to a mall on inDrive for 500 buggies. We mainly ate at yam yam (saw a recommendation). We ordered a lot and took it to the room, had enough for dinner as well. The refrigerator is in good condition. We liked everything, great place and nice people, the crowd is really only at breakfast around 9 am. We mostly had breakfast at 7 o'clock, so we didn't even notice the crowd. The buffet was enough for us, there's plenty to eat for breakfast 👌🏼 We will gladly come back here again, we want to stay in a villa next time ❤️🥰

Villa is amazing! We stayed in 4006 (I think)), with a kitchen. Clean, big pool, room service is great too! We didn't stay in the main buildings.

avatar

We are not in Thailand for the first time, and our friends have already traveled all over here, and when they came to visit us, they were thrilled. Firstly, there is no need to compare Turkey and Thailand. Thailand is very decent. Yes, the water park is tired, we were there 12 years ago, but now there are fewer people, as they take excursions to the Andaman Sea. Secondly, there are large family rooms, we were comfortable with two children and the price is normal. Thirdly, it's quiet, peaceful compared to other beaches and places. And still, this is a protected area, so let there be pine cones and needles rather than mountains of garbage.

avatar

Honestly, I don't understand what to admire in this hotel? It's definitely not close to being 5 stars. We stayed there for three nights last year before flying home. The rooms are ordinary, nothing extraordinary, the pool is all chipped tiles, there is no real beach, it's dirty and full of needles. It's crowded with people, the hotel is huge. The breakfasts are so-so.... Or did the hotel transform over the year?) Back then, it reminded me of a 3-star hotel in Turkey.

avatar

I am lying right now in building 8 and thinking that something is not quite right here. We really like it, everything is clean, new, even with some kind of lacquer smell at first, like after renovation. Room with a balcony, bathtub, toilet - all luxurious)))) Maybe we got lucky with that room, while others are bad... Why do many people say not very good things about these buildings? Maybe I don't know something) or don't understand 🤣 Super hotel. Well, here it's not exactly luxury. In Turkey, hotels are richer if they have five stars. And here everything is a bit different) Maybe we just need to find a more expensive hotel here. I see the positives. The territory is beautiful, large, I like the electric cars, for those who like the water park, and we are here partly because of it, it's also a great option for Thailand. It's good here with kids. Yes, there are downsides. But I see more good moments.

avatar

Maybe they started updating the 8th and you got lucky, maybe you're not very demanding. But the hotel, except for buildings 9 and 8, is really good.

avatar

I figured it out.. I did ask some people, in buildings 8 and 9, some have very bad rooms. Some have good ones. It seems like it's a matter of luck in these buildings.

Hello! We rested at the villa and had no complaints about the condition. The furniture and plumbing were in excellent condition. In terms of wildlife on the territory, we encountered two cockroaches, one mouse running between the trees, cute lizards, and ants during the entire vacation. The breakfasts were monotonous but very delicious. Everything you need was there: eggs in all forms, sausages, cereals, pancakes, and various types of soup. Among the nearby cafes, we liked Siamese Dragon the most (everything was delicious), Three Elephants (with a children's area), Habibi (traditional dishes on the menu such as dragon kebabs and frog 🐸). We rented a car from Localrent from home. The delivery to the hotel cost 1000 baht, which was very convenient. As for the sea life, on our beach, we encountered one small jellyfish and plankton throughout the entire time. The plankton was not always in large quantities, so we were able to swim well for the most part. This "delight" was not limited to just one beach. At Bang Tao, it was impossible to stay in the water for more than 30 seconds due to the large jellyfish, but at Banana Beach, we were able to swim peacefully until 11 AM, after which large jellyfish and a lot of plankton appeared (so you never know here 🤷‍♀️).

Hello! We stayed in the 6th building, as they say "tired" :), but we had a large room (actually two connected rooms), so everything was fine :) Next to the entrance to the water park, we were afraid it would be noisy, but no, only birds and the buzzing of airplanes sometimes, but we completely stopped noticing it, it doesn't bother our rest at all! The sofas are a little worn out, the mattresses on the beds are good, and the bed linen is top-notch... Everything we needed was provided, they brought us water in bulk right away (there were three of us), I don't know if the chocolates "worked" 😉 or they bring it to everyone like that. Disposable slippers were always changed, robes were provided. But the cleaning was not very satisfactory, they came in the evening :) But it wasn't critical for us, we enjoyed the fact that it was summer and everything was beautiful 🥰 We went to the beach several times, which was good - very few people (mostly everyone was in the large pool), we always went to the right. Beach entertainment:)) There are plenty of places :), each room has its own shower/toilet, its own balcony, a large living room with a kitchen, microwave, large refrigerator, in general-everything necessary is there 😉 Two soft sofas as well :) Have a great vacation 🏝️❤️ By the way, we left a $200 deposit just in case, to be prepared :)

avatar

Among the hotel's features are the infinity pool and the promenade. However, the motorbike drivers have set up a business delivering tourists from other hotels to the place where they take pictures with airplanes. The promenade for pedestrians is located in the constantly congested road. If you walk to the end of the hotel villas, you will see that it is the pedestrian area, and the road entrance is blocked by barriers, but they move them aside and drive through.

avatar

Who has not yet arrived, but is already going, DO NOT AGREE TO 9 building under any circumstances! Every guest of it, I think, will confirm my words. There are no views of the airport, but you will hear it always and everywhere, do not worry. At the beach, you can watch planes, so they will become more familiar than the sand on the beach) The main thing is not the 9 and 8 buildings. Then just great.

avatar

Is there something wrong with them?

avatar

Everything is very bad, to put it briefly.

Of course, this place is absolutely dreadful... it's such a mess since the pandemic. Rats in the rooms, dilapidation, dirt... at least the staff is friendly and doesn't lose hope, and they do try their best... Another super quest is to have breakfast, but now it's Chinese New Year, the hotel is packed, and we came for breakfast at 9 o'clock, which is peak hour.

avatar

Actually, tourists highly praise the hotel. Maybe you were just unlucky. Was your room on the first floor? Did you report it to the staff? Did they take any action?

avatar

And we praised ourselves, 5 years ago we went by ourselves, and sent all our friends, room on the 6th floor of the 9th building. We didn't take any action. They offered an upgrade to another building for 21,000 baht for the remaining 10 nights.

We liked the hotel. The photo shows a 2-room residence in the 1st building. In our room, there were immediately an iron, an ironing board, toothbrushes and toothpaste, a hairdryer, and a kettle. Bathrobes and slippers were brought upon request. They provide 2 bottles of water every day. Items on the balcony do not dry overnight due to high humidity. We put a dryer in the room. There are minibuses that go around the entire hotel area. They take people to the beach, lobby, and restaurant. People also use them with strollers (they fold them). You can call a buggy by dialing "0" at the reception desk or simply raise your hand and it will stop.

We were there last year and reviewed the villa on video. There's a wonderful store-pharmacy, where you can have breakfast, walk past the Three Elephants café (elephant figures) up the street, and you'll come across a building where there's a store-pharmacy. We specifically came to stock up on dietary supplements, candies, etc. The prices are pleasant compared to the markets and shops in Bangtao (where we are currently located). Perhaps it will be useful to someone.

avatar

Hello everyone! The hotel is great!!! The beach is the best))) It's quiet, peaceful, and everything is accessible. If you want some action, go to the center))) The weather is superb, there are waves, depending on the wind.

Deluxe double room, in building 9. The beach is right behind the pool. You can relax in the shade with the provided towels. Towels are given out after signing, please indicate your room number. Return them after using them at the beach.

avatar

Hello everyone. Feel free to come. The deposit is 200 dollars. Breakfast is optional. You won't be hungry. The room is nice, and we have a kitchen. The sea is great, warm. There are waves, but they are not a problem.

avatar

We are currently on vacation, living in a villa. The service is excellent. We have lunch and dinner at the Three Elephants Cafe (we like it there more), everything is delicious and the service is fast. Breakfasts are average, but we don't leave hungry. There is a 7/11 store within a five-minute walk, and we buy fruits at the store near the restaurant where we have breakfast, there is also a currency exchange there. There is an undertow on the beach and a bit of stinging plankton. There are not many people, we only see them at breakfasts and massages. We like the area, there are no crowded places, but it's exactly what we wanted.

avatar

Elena, what kind of villa do you have?

avatar

By the ocean, with two bedrooms and a kitchen.

Check-in is not allowed before 3:00 PM, as indicated everywhere. The deposit is $200. We haven't been in the room yet. Seven Eleven is not quite close, keep that in mind if it's important to you. The rooms are decent, we were accommodated in the 7th building, just like we booked. They sell kebabs, shrimp, smoothies, and corn along the beach. The breakfasts are excellent, everyone is satisfied. We went to the water park, the kids loved it. Towels are not provided for free, it seems we can't bring our own. They don't allow us to bring water or drinks.

We are currently staying at a hotel. The breakfasts are good, but there is no porridge. There are omelettes of all kinds and a variety of Thai fruit dishes available. The Wi-Fi is weak and constantly disconnects. Everything we need can be bought nearby. We particularly enjoyed eating at Three Elephants, where they serve mashed potatoes with meatballs and dumplings. The service is really lacking; I had to buy shampoo, toothpaste, and shower gel.

We were there last year, we had breakfasts and dinners. The breakfasts were normal, but the dinners were terrible. Limited menu - you could choose one main dish, one salad, and a dessert (either fruits or a piece of cake). If a child chose pizza, they could only get a dessert and a salad. We had to ask for water. The Caesar salad consisted of a few leaves, 2-3 pieces of chicken, sauce, a couple of croutons, and sometimes tomatoes were added. If we wanted coffee or any other drink, we had to pay separately. Although it was paid for, we stopped going because we got tired of the same food every day by the 4th day. We started dining elsewhere, I recommend it. Oh, and in the photo where they show carbonara, there is a bit more to the menu. If you order carbonara, you can get a salad and a dessert (dessert can be a few plastic fruits or a small cake, it depends). You can also purchase an additional dessert, coffee, or a drink for an extra fee. Only water is free.

avatar

Is the minibar also an additional charge?

avatar

Yes, and you can't bring your own for dinner.

Another question about the water park - some sources claim that hotel guests can visit it only once a day, while others say there are unlimited visits. Can you tell me how it actually works?

avatar

We went a couple of times for a few hours; the kids had a blast on the extreme rides, swam in the pools, and for the rest of the days, they wanted to go to the seaside and the pool by the sea. Honestly, I didn't really like the water park; the sea was better, even though it stormed for many days, but the kids still went swimming.

The water park is free. But there are paid services in it.

Is the water park open every day or are there any days off?

Not every day works, there are sanitary days, they close for washing, it seems that they do not work for 2 days a week.

We are leaving tomorrow. We liked everything, especially the water park for the children. You can easily buy food right on the beach. If you walk a little towards the airplanes, the locals cook there. It's cheap and delicious. Everything is nearby. There are plenty of fruits being sold 😊.

We came here for the first time. I was worried, but I didn't regret choosing this hotel at all. The hotel is nice. We liked it 😄, the pool with a sea view is something else. I chose the hotel based on my son's preferences. The water park is cool 👍 and he enjoyed it. The most important thing is to bring positive vibes and have a vacation mood 🤗.

avatar

Hello everyone👋🏼 Can you please advise which buildings are closer to the beach? We can't decide what exactly to book. How far is Seven/Eleven from the hotel and the beach?

avatar

The closest option would be villas 🤔 There are cars available that can transport you from any building to the beach.

Show all replies in a thread (1)
avatar

Closer to the villas, but if you prefer to stay in the buildings, you can also walk, take a stroll along the alley. It's also possible to ride on buggies, they endlessly travel around the hotel grounds.

avatar

The villas are occupied on the desired dates, the buildings are available. Which building did you live in?

avatar

In the eighth room, we were very satisfied. We had a two-room apartment with a kitchen and a balcony - terrace.

I have been on Phuket for almost a month. At first, we stayed in a villa. Then we moved to The Marin hotel in Kamala, which opened in October. The Marin is a very compact and stylish new hotel, but we lacked space there. Here, at Splash, everything is super stylish but more for adults. What can I say - Splash is paradise for kids and family vacations. Yes, the hotel is not new, but the territory is pleasant to walk around with a stroller. It's a pleasure to walk around. The cafes are good and the shops stay open late. The only downside of Splash is the abrupt entry into the water, while Kamala has a gentle slope with white sand. In short, for those who are going to Splash, it is a good choice, especially for kids. 👌🏻

avatar

We recently checked into a hotel. We had an amazing flight with kosher food and wine👍 The hotel has a separate category of rooms - penthouses. And that's exactly where we are staying. It's a two-story room in a 4-story building, approximately 350 sqm. It has its own large outdoor pool. The advantage of this category compared to a villa is the view of the hotel and the mountains; similar to a standard room on a high floor. The only downside for us is the lack of a full kitchen. Overall, we liked the hotel, and the weather is great too.

avatar

We arrived today. We have a villa category. Bathrobes, slippers, gels, everything is there. I don't know yet how things are going with replenishment. They brought a baby cot and a high chair. There is also an iron and ironing board. They also brought water this morning. 👌🏻

We arrived yesterday. We liked the hotel, we had a two-room + kitchen + balcony. The breakfasts were varied, there was always something to eat. The room was cleaned properly if we left money or Alenka. The territory of the hotel is large and beautiful.

Photo class. I don't understand, are there sunbeds and towels on the beach or do we have to bring our own? In the photo, everyone seems to have their own.

avatar

Sunbeds are only allowed next to the pool, they cannot be taken to the beach. As I understood, the beach area is a protected zone where sunbeds are prohibited. On the beach, only towels are allowed. Towels are provided near the beach, and you can exchange them. It is better to take them with you to the room if you plan on going to the beach early, as they are only provided starting from 10 am.

The hotel is very large and cozy, and the hotel grounds are huge, so buggies shuttle around frequently, making it easy to reach the pool, which is located near the sea. Everything in the hotel is wonderful and deserving, by Thai standards))) The sea is clean, and there aren't many people. I found the lack of nearby infrastructure near the hotel disappointing. There's not much to do outside the hotel, and the city center is very far away. But it depends on personal preferences.)))) There is a pool on the premises, and there is a large pool and water park near the sea. You won't be bored))) On the way from breakfast, there is a pond with fish, where we always fed the fish. The highlight of this beach is the planes... They land and fly very low, resulting in beautiful photos... I don't remember if there was a hairdryer, as I don't use one, but I think there is. They even have an ironing board and iron))) There are bathrobes and slippers, and there were even umbrellas in our room. They didn't provide toothpaste, so we bought it. There's tea, coffee, a kettle, and cups in the room. I'm not sure if there are hammocks, but it was cool to relax on them. There are also swings, which also make for beautiful photos. The water park is very large, and you can spend the whole day there.

avatar

We had one umbrella, but there was no ironing board or iron in the room.

According to my feelings, the hotel is not a 5-star one, but I liked it, if you don't nitpick. All the minor drawbacks are instantly forgotten once you get to the beach, which is amazing. There are few people, and you get a sense of being in nature 🔥 The planes that people complain about didn't bother us at all. We didn't have a hairdryer in our room, but since I don't use it, I didn't investigate this issue: maybe we were just "lucky". However, there was a big, metal dryer on the balcony.

avatar

Hello everyone. Please, could you explain about the deposit: why is it needed and is it refunded at the end of the vacation? This is our first time traveling to Thailand and we are not familiar with these rules.

They will refund it, but you can still order something at the hotel, and they will charge it to your deposit.

Can you please tell me if there is Wi-Fi in the hotel area, on the beach? Does it have good reception or is it better to buy a local SIM card?

I had enough Wi-Fi in the hotel, but when we moved out, I bought a SIM card for the remaining week. I got it at 7/11 for 399 baht for 8 days. They activate it based on your passport, they won't process it without one.

Please tell me if there are any issues with insects, mosquitoes at the hotel, and if any measures should be taken. Are there any jellyfish in the water?

There is some plankton, but it is insignificant. No issues with insects 🤷🏻‍♀️

Even if you are found by mosquitoes, you can buy mosquito spray on the street with cafes. I, on the contrary, bring Thai remedies back home to Russia, and then they fly away at the dacha.

We have stayed at this hotel twice! One time we stayed in a villa, and last year we stayed in a regular room. A buggy takes you to the beach 👌🏻 The resort grounds are spacious, and the breakfast options are basic, nothing fancy. The beach is not crowded.

avatar

Which villa did you take with a kitchen?

avatar

Yes. It was 3 years ago. In 2022, they were simply hiring at a hotel.

Is the beach so far from the hotel that you need to drive instead of walking?

Not that far, within walking distance, you can stroll to the beach through the hotel grounds. The grounds are quite extensive, so they provide buggy rides.

Can you please tell me how much is the deposit? I have a deluxe room with a balcony. How much is the rate per night or per person for this type of room?

avatar

Hello. We are staying at this hotel for the third time already 🤣 The deposit is $200, which will be returned on the day of departure, unless you order anything at the cafe ☝🏻 In that case, they will deduct the amount from the deposit and return the remaining balance ☝🏻 The water park is free for guests. Just mention your room number and welcome to the water park. They will give you a bracelet, onto which you need to load money. You can use it to pay at the cafe within the water park, and the remaining balance will be refunded ☝🏻

Perhaps it will be useful to someone, we vacationed in January, and for the last 2 days I booked Splash Beach, near the airport. I booked a room with three bedrooms, the room itself is good, a small living room with a TV and three separate bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, which is rare to find in Phuket. The area is large but useless, the pool is located near the sea, it takes 7-10 minutes to walk from the room under the sun. The pool area is already very tired, it is long overdue for renovation. There were a lot of people at breakfast, the kitchen couldn't cope, many Russians and Kazakhstanis. The beach is nice, and the hotel's price tag is reasonable.

You will only see a crowd at breakfast from 8:30 to 10:00. Breakfasts are solid four if you avoid the rush hour. There's a crowd at the pool, but not more than the number of sun loungers))) so overall everything is decent. The beach is huge and empty. Across from the hotel, there are people, and on the planes, there are people, the rest of the beach is at your disposal. The water park is empty. There are no queues for any slides. 75% of sun loungers are available. The cafe is half-empty.

And we've already given her a name... gotten used to her))) And she squeaked But! She didn't enter the room, wandered along the ceiling before bed). At 9, all crews of all charters settle in, an endless stream. Naturally, those who just "stay overnight" don't care much about the condition of the room. Therefore, the battered ocean 9 is getting even more battered.

The sea is almost deep right away, about 5 meters deep. When the sea is calm, you can splash around near the shore. When there are waves, they can wash over the shore. You can take armbands for yourself and the kids. We enjoyed swimming in them further away from the shore. There are jellyfish, but not many, you have to watch out for them when swimming.

The exchange rate is lower at the airport. It's better to go beyond the hotel premises. Even if it's a little further from the hotel, whether to the right or to the left, before reaching the 7-Eleven store - the exchange rate is more advantageous than right across from the hotel's central exit.

Where is the exchange office located near the hotel?

Comment
avatar
Tatiana
2023-11-17T20:54:35+03:00

On the street near the hotel, there are 3 currency exchange offices. The exchange rate is similar, but if you turn right, it was higher. Near the hotel, there are 3 currency exchange offices, a good 7/11, and a pharmacy specifically for medications in case someone falls ill. If you turn right and walk down the street to the end (where the airport VIP zone is), there is a souvenir shop, Thai cosmetics, and other items, run by a Russian-speaking Tajik or something like that. He is very friendly and gave us discounts, even though his prices were already cheap. In the end, it turned out that everything in Patong is considerably more expensive than at his shop. There are also several nice cafes there, and everything is delicious. We also bought fruits several times: mangosteen for 80 baht, pineapples for 70 baht, mango for around 60 baht, and langsat for 80 baht.
