I liked everything except the beach, it feels like you're splashing in a puddle, and the hotels across.

avatar

Fermont. Just got back from there. Really enjoyed it.

Wi-Fi works everywhere (it worked for me even on the beach) - I can't say anything about the speed: it was sufficient for casual use. Personally, I didn't find/didn't look for any nearby places to grab a bite (there is a Market 10 minutes away where there are restaurants, but I didn't go there, so I can't say anything specific). There is a hypermarket with a dining area 25 minutes away by foot, across a small bridge there are many restaurants and cafes (but that's already a 30-35 minute walk or a taxi ride). The nearest mall is a 15-minute taxi ride away... Something like that. I can't say anything about the football field - I didn't notice (I'm already past the age for that).) By the way, I really liked the hotel)... Maybe I'll visit it again in the fall)

We really liked the hotel! I'm glad we chose it. It's very convenient to have breakfast and dinner, because we didn't see any cafes near the hotel (well, we weren't really looking). The food is very tasty with a wide selection. The room is spacious, comfortable, and cozy. The staff is polite, everyone smiles, communicates, and tries to help and please. We enjoyed the beach and pool, even though we didn't swim much, it was great to sunbathe and admire the mosque. The view of the mosque is wonderful, we loved taking a bath with foam while watching the sunset, it's very atmospheric and adds to the experience. In fact, I can't think of any negatives. My husband and I stayed at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr hotel from February 3rd to 11th, 2024. We had a Fairmont King Mosque/Canal View room for 2 adults. We were on the first floor (room 141). The room is very spacious (45 sq m). The view of the mosque and the bay from the window is simply stunning! We especially enjoyed taking a bath with foam with this beautiful view. The room has everything you need: an ironing board and iron (in the closet), 2 bathrobes, a coffee machine (2 capsules per person provided free of charge every day), bottled water (2 bottles of 0.5 liters per person replenished daily), tea (various tea bags + sugar), a shaving kit (razor and shaving soap, but my husband said the razor was very bad, so if needed, it's better to bring your own), a wooden comb, a hairdryer, a toothbrush and toothpaste, body lotion, cotton pads and swabs, a nail file, shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel. The room is not worn out, the repair work is good. We really liked that there were 2 sinks, a shower and a bathtub, which made getting ready to go out faster. The bed is huge (1.8 m wide), with one big duvet and 4 pillows (2 pillows per person), and a very high and comfortable mattress. Food. We had breakfast and dinner. Everything was delicious. For breakfast, there was a buffet that was the same every day: different types of bread, cheese platter, cottage cheese, 2 types of smoked salmon, turkey and chicken, no sausages, omelettes made to order, boiled eggs, fried eggs made for you, stewed vegetables, bacon, 2 types of sausages, stewed beans, various filled pastries, waffles, pancakes, croutons, vegetables, fruits, fruit salad, yogurt (3 types). There was a section with various types of muesli (5-6 types) and 3 types of milk (full fat, skim, coconut or soy), honey (several varieties + even honeycombs hanging). Tea (+ mint, lemon, ginger) and coffee (several types, cappuccino can be made with coconut or soy milk) For dinner, there is a buffet on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and the rest of the days you can choose to go to a restaurant. Only water is included in the dinners, all other drinks are charged. There were a lot of different dishes at the buffet, all very high quality and interesting: there was a separate zone with sushi and rolls + shrimp and mussels each day. One day there were many meat dishes: various kebabs, steaks, burgers. On another day, there were many seafood dishes: different types of fish, shrimp salad, 2 seafood soups, lobsters, shrimp pasta, shrimp rice, seafood in sauce. There is an Italian restaurant (where you choose 3 dishes from the menu) and a Mediterranean cuisine restaurant called Maraj (where you choose 4 dishes from the menu). We enjoyed everything in the Italian restaurant, it was delicious. In the Maraj restaurant, some dishes were very tasty, while others we didn't quite understand or appreciate, but that's a matter of personal taste. Pool: the water in the pool was cold for us (around 22 degrees), and very few people swam. The pool has different depths, the deepest point being 1.95 m. There is a jacuzzi with warm water, but for some reason, there were no bubbles. There are plenty of sun loungers on the beach and by the pool. Towels are provided in the hotel building, where there are also changing rooms with showers, toilets, and lockers for storage, and a small sauna area (separate for men and women). We visited the pool twice, the first time the water was cold during the day, and the second time a few days later, we went to the pool around 5:00-5:30 pm, and the water was warm, significantly warmer, and comfortable for swimming. We didn't understand why the water was different temperatures. Distance to attractions. We used taxis to get around everywhere. It takes about 20-25 minutes to get to the airport, Emirates Zoo Park, Warner Bros theme park, and the water park. It only took us about 5 minutes to drive from the hotel to the mosque. There is a bus stop near the hotel, about 300-400 meters away, but we preferred to take a taxi. The staff is very friendly, everyone smiles, greets, and tries to help and please. There are several outlets in the hotel, one of them is universal (for Euro and British plugs), while the others are purely British. So it’s better to bring your own adapter. My husband and I highly recommend this hotel. I am attaching a photo and video of breakfast. The view of the mosque is very beautiful.

avatar

Thank you very much for your feedback. I'm curious, were the towels provided for free?

avatar

Yes, towels at the pool are provided for free.

Share how to "take a bath with a view"?)

The bath is large, my husband and I laid there comfortably together. Very atmospheric. At the same time, you can lower the curtain and calmly climb out of the bath, without fear of being seen from the street.

Do we need an adapter for the socket?

There were several outlets in the hotel, one of which was universal (for both European and British plugs), the others were strictly British. So it's better to bring your own adapter.

Lebanese restaurant: Appetizers: Lentil soup - Ksyusha - nothing special, don't need to order again Harira soup - Vova - excellent, mostly liquid, very little meat Manti - not bad, but nothing special Shanklish - very spicy, but tasty Main course: Kebab kheshkhash - Vova - kebab skewers, very tasty, served with tomato sauce. Red pepper (served on top, whole) is better not to eat, very spicy. Kebab is served with french fries. Farouj meshwi - Ksyusha - grilled half chicken. Served with fries. Dry, not impressed. Maybe try something else. Desserts: Mastic rice pudding - cold rice pudding, not impressed. Umm Ali - soggy pastry sticks in milk sauce with nuts. Didn't like it, tasted weird. ------------------ Another day: Appetizers Raheb - vegetable appetizer, quite tasty Cheese rolls - tasty Sawdet dajaj - chicken liver Fried kibbeh - like patties - very tasty Main Tajine bil barkook - very tasty Shawarma waguy beef - not like the usual shawarma, didn't like it

avatar

Can dinner be removed?) I've heard a lot about it)... I haven't seen any photos/videos anywhere (...)

I didn't take off dinner, it was somehow inconvenient. But we really enjoyed the buffet dinner.

Thank you. I can't figure out: is it possible to have breakfast/dinner outdoors? And also... Does the waiter bring coffee ☕? How long does it take for the order to be fulfilled?

avatar

You can sit inside or outside, however you like. You can order coffee and tea for breakfast through a waiter, and they will bring it to you. Alternatively, you can just approach the area where they prepare tea and coffee, order, wait and take it immediately, or order and have it brought to you later. Sometimes, yes, the coffee takes a long time to be brought, so it's better to order it yourself and take it immediately.

Hello. We arrived at the hotel on February 3rd. So far, we really like the hotel! The room is spacious (45 sq.m), with a view of the mosque and the bay, it's beautiful. The room has everything you need: an ironing board and iron, a coffee machine (capsules are provided for free), water, tea, a shaving kit, a wooden comb, a hairdryer, a toothbrush and toothpaste, body lotion, cotton pads, and q-tips, well, shampoo and shower gel are always provided everywhere. We have breakfast and dinner included. Everything is very delicious. Breakfast is always a buffet. And dinners are different: buffet on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and on other days you can go to a restaurant of your choice and choose from a menu of 3 dishes. We happened to have a buffet on Saturday, and on Sunday we went to an Italian restaurant. Everything is very tasty everywhere. We have a video review of the room. In the bathroom, the curtain can be lifted and the view from the window opens up. We brought bath foam with us and in the evenings we take a bath with foam and enjoy the beautiful view. Although, we turn off the lights in the bathroom so that we are not visible from the outside. The pool and the beach. The pool has different depths. The deepest part is 1.95 m. There is a jacuzzi, the water there is warm, but there are no bubbles for some reason. And the temperature of the water in the pool is around 22 degrees Celsius. There are plenty of sun loungers available on the beach and by the pool. Towels are provided. In the hotel building, there is a changing room with a shower and toilet, as well as lockers for storage + a sauna (separate for men and women).

When checking in, we were given these two sheets with general information. You can choose between lunch or dinner. If it's a buffet (only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays), it starts at 7:00 p.m. On other days, you can go to the Italian restaurant Marco's (dinner starts at 6:00 p.m.) or Mazaj (the exact start time of dinner is not specified on the sheet, but we arrived at 6:40 p.m. yesterday and were accommodated without any issues).

We are currently enjoying everything, but we just can't figure out the meals - dinners are paid for, but nobody can say which one of the 4 restaurants it is. Here, all the sockets have triple inputs, so if you find an adapter in Russia, bring it with you, as my phone charges, but not my hairdryer.

avatar

Can you please tell me if there are no windows that open in the rooms?

avatar

No, there are huge panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows in the room and an air conditioner is available for ventilation if desired.

Most likely, you have dinners in à la carte restaurants - and you sign the check for reporting purposes, which includes a number and a surname. If you order drinks for a fee or a paid dish that is not included in the complimentary dinner, they usually include it there.

At 10, 13, 16 o'clock... Just to the right of the hotel entrance (if you stand with your back to the entrance)... Almost at the level of the Japanese restaurant. It's not the hotel's transfer, but a transfer from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi. But it's still free.)

Good time of the day! Please, tell me, what is the dress code in the restaurants? Is it possible for men to come to dinner in shorts? Or are pants required? We will be at the hotel in May, it will be hot by then.

Comment

Kseniya
2024-04-18T10:31:58+03:00

I didn't notice any particular dress code. Everyone was dressed differently. It's probably more logical to wear pants for dinner, but I think shorts would also be fine.

avatar
Yuliya
2024-04-18T15:05:30+03:00

There are hotels where even shorts are not allowed for dinner, we came across one in Greece. In Italy, there was a hotel where evening attire was expected for dinner. We knew all this in advance from the reviews. As for the Fairmont hotel, in a video review some blogger mentioned that our ladies were in sarongs at breakfast, while other guests were almost in suits. So, I started thinking about which outfits would be more appropriate to bring to this hotel.

avatar
Kseniya
2024-04-18T15:42:24+03:00

It's great that you study everything in advance. Yes, of course, it's better not to come in half-naked or in shorts, the level here is somewhat higher than the all-inclusive resorts in Turkey and Egypt, that's for sure.

Is it the Mall? They are all quite far, about 20 km away, nearby there is a small shopping center. There is a store where you can eat outside, a few souvenirs, decorations, chargers, aba. Either you need to exit the hotel and turn right, or you can walk along the promenade along another hotel. Exit through the door located in the silt, where the exit to the canopy.

There is a fountain, and if you walk along the sea, you can reach this shopping center, which is next to the adjacent hotel. You can also walk further to another hotel and then almost reach the bridge.
