Generally, I liked the hotel - the location, the rooms, the food. They even treated me to a little cake for my birthday) It's the little things that count and are nice)

Overall, I liked the hotel. It depends on what requirements you have for the hotel. It is close to the metro and there are transfers to the shopping center. We took a transfer to La Mer beach once, but didn't like the beach. Also, the shopping and walking area is closed for renovation. The pool is nice, heated, and operates until 10 pm. The staff is friendly, but the cleaning is lacking; they clean well, but sometimes forget to leave water or put towels. All issues are resolved with a phone call. There is no kitchenware or stove in the room. Kitchenware is provided upon request. One room had a washing machine, while another did not. The rooms are a bit tired. The view from the windows is nice, but nobody cleans the windows. Breakfast is served on the second and third floors. The second floor has a modern interior and a greater selection of dishes.

avatar

The La mer beach and restaurant area are under reconstruction. Only one kiosk with ice cream and drinks is open. There are no sunbeds, the toilet is not closing properly, and the changing rooms are worn out. At the hotel, you can order scrambled eggs or omelets from the waiters. The breakfast on the first floor is more diverse than on the second; the waiters are more attentive.

Hello. We were on vacation in September. Every day there was a free transfer from the hotel to La Mer beach. The beach was nice. There weren't many people. For 100 dirhams, you can take towels from the hotel with you. We just put the towels in our backpack and went without a deposit. The food is good, but monotonous. The rooms are nice. They're big. It wouldn't hurt to update them, of course. The room was cleaned every day. Water was brought every day. It's almost impossible to get to the pool, there are always a lot of people. Towels are given at the entrance to the pool. You can walk, but it takes a long time. One metro stop to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall (the metro stop is called that). If you take a taxi: Karim, Uber - it's about 30 dirhams, if it's a local taxi, it's around 25-28 dirhams.

avatar

Do they require a deposit when checking in at the hotel?

avatar

Yes. 15 dirhams per night. We paid 105 dirhams. It's better to pay in dirhams, as the hotel's exchange rate is not favorable.

We made a deposit. Only the mandatory tourist fee.

avatar

So this is it. The tourist fee is 15 dirhams per room.

Is La Mer beach (that has transfer) open? Is there any construction going on?

avatar

The beach is open. There is construction, but it doesn't interfere. There are few people on the beaches.

Are there power adapters in the rooms? Is there an iron in the rooms?

avatar

No adapter is needed. You can plug it in without an adapter. There is an iron and an ironing board.

As soon as we arrived, the first impression was good. It can't be compared to Turkey, of course. The food selection is not very large, for dinner there is chicken, fish, or seafood assortment (yesterday it was with fish, shrimp, and squid) and beef. In general, you won't be hungry, but without any special delicacies. We had no trouble finding a table for breakfast, maybe we're just lucky. We have dinner late - in general, 80% of the tables are empty. The food is monotonous, but I find it delicious. The location is suitable for active leisure. The metro is nearby. Overall, everything is pleasing: the staff is attentive, we recently arrived late for dinner, came 15 minutes before the end, and were served kindly. There are not many loungers by the pool, but we prefer the beach. The hotel transfer runs three times a day, if you have your own plans, take a taxi. But take a municipal taxi, not the hotel one. The price difference to the beach is significant. The hotel taxi costs 60 dirhams, while the municipal one costs 25-27 dirhams. Municipal taxis are beige with a colored roof (we hailed them or used the Careem app). La Mer Beach.

Hello, please tell us, we are going to Dubai for the first time. Where and which metro card should we buy, and how do they differ? How is dinner at the hotel - a la carte or a buffet? Which mall do you recommend visiting from the hotel for children's clothing and sports gear?

About the map - I don't remember what it's called. Dinner - buffet. Dubai Mall is nearby, everything is there.

Could you please advise if we can book a transfer to the beach in the evening? We will arrive around 6:00 p.m. And can we find sun loungers by the pool? Is it crowded?

For the transfer to the beach, you need to book a day in advance. But if there are available spots, they will accommodate you. The staff there are very loyal and strive to make the stay enjoyable for tourists. We only went to the pool in the evening (by the way, I recommend it, the view is magnificent in the dark); there were hardly any people.

There is a choice, constantly being added to. There is a problem with sausage in all emirates. But there are sausages (more similar to our sausages for frying - they are fine). The pastries are delicious, the croissants are wonderful. Boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, porridge, cereals, a lot of different cheeses, fruits, vegetables. Various jams. The dish of the day changes: the pancakes are wonderful, the waffles are terrible. Peanut butter, hummus. Delicious juices.

Is there a deposit at the hotel? The tour agent said $100. Does the UnionPay card from Rosselkhozbank work here? Do they provide an additional bed for a child?

There is no deposit. UnionPay returned theirs, the bank itself said they no longer work. As for the cot, I can't say, my husband and I went together.

We did not use the deposit. An additional bed was provided for the child. The Gazprombank Union Pay card worked. There were always free sun loungers by the pool. At around 11 o'clock, they treat with fruit on skewers. We traveled by the silver card in the metro, in the last carriage (intended for women and children), it was quite empty. There were no issues. The mixed carriages during rush hour were packed with men to the brim.

Good day! Our tour operator told us that the hotel now provides a bus to Kite Beach, not La Mer. Is this true? Is it really possible to walk to Dubai Mall? Half an hour to an hour doesn't scare us, we love walking :)

Hello! We were in December, went to La Mer. One visit was enough for us. It is under renovation. There is nothing to do there. There are no normal toilets or stalls. There is only one kiosk for snacks/drinks. It is possible to walk to Dubai Mall) it's just a little further than walking from the metro station, about 1.2 km😄 Especially if you go when the sun is not shining. Download 2gis, it will show you the walking route.

I didn't go kiteboarding, we went to JBR. 1.2 km is the distance from the metro station to the Mall. If you walk, it's about 2.5 km.

You can easily connect to the Wi-Fi; They can accommodate you earlier if there are available rooms. We arrived in December, and the hotel was fully booked. We had to wait a little bit to be allocated a room on a high floor.

We didn't pay extra. We were given the 43rd floor. But we had three birthday children for two rooms 🙃 maybe it played a role.
